Argentina - Ireland
The opening placement match of the day between Argentina and Ireland was lively, with pride on the line. Irelandโs organized play gave Dillon Sherindan his fourth goal of the competition. Irelandโs aggressive play resulted in Peter Cotter getting a yellow card for his team. They kept up the pressure on the Argentineโs and Sherindan scored his fifth of the tournament to lead all scorers in goals.
The second half saw Argentina came out more aggressively, but soon resulted in Mariano Morana get a red card to leave their side down a player for the rest of the match. Ireland was unable to convert their shot on goal, but a few minutes later Gary Messett scored to bring the score to 0-3. Despite being down, the Argentines were able to get a number of scoring opportunities and press on the offense. The Irish side were unlucky with the score ending at 0-3 because they had a number of shots bounce off the goalposts and out instead of in.
