Brazil - Ukraine

Earlier today, the final at the IFCPF Pre-Paralympic Tournament wrapped up with Urkaine defeating Brazil 0 โ€“ 2 in Salou.

Both teams were relatively evenly matched with Ukraine controlling the ball during much of the first half. Brazilโ€™s defense was able hold off their attack until the twentieth minute when Ukraineโ€™s Artem Krasylynykov put one in the net. Vitaly Trushev got a yellow in the final minute of the first half, which ended 0 โ€“ 1.

Brazil came out in attack during the second half, dominating on possession. Brazilian captain Felipe Rafael Silva Gomes was given a yellow in the thirty-fifth minute, and teammate Jonatas Santos Machado got one two minutes later. Another four minutes later, and Diego Delgado Da Silva got Brazilโ€™s third yellow of the game. Ukraine was held largely to break away plays, and successfully capitalized on one in the forty-ninth minute when Artem Krasylynykov scored his second goal to put the Ukraine up 0 โ€“ 2. The Brazilians continued to get deep in the Ukrainian side, but were unable to capitalize on these opportunities. In the fading minutes of the second half, substitute Yevhen Zinoviev picked up Ukraineโ€™s final yellow card of the game.

The Brazilians and Ukrainians could possible meet again in the finals or semi-finals at the Rio Games as they were drawn in different groups for group play.
