Argentina - Ukraine

Play got underway today with tournament favorite Ukraine playing Argentina, in a game that saw Ukraine largely control the tempo of game from start to finish. They kept on the pressure, allowing Argentina to control the ball but largely in their own half. Ukraine would fall back to set up their offense and Argentina could only run the ball down the field a few times.

The tournament favorites struck first with Serhii Zinchenko in a weird goal that was more players and ball falling into the goal than any real shot. Argentinaโ€™s Rodrido Lugrin was able to answer back to bring the game to 1 โ€“ 1. Stanislav Podolskyi put in the Ukraineโ€™s second for the first half to finish 1 - 2. The second half saw two other players score for Ukraine, including Yevhen Zinoviev and Taras Dutko. The game finished 1-4. The Ukrainians might have had a bigger score line except for the performance of Argentinaโ€™s goalkeeper Gustavo Nahuelquin.
