In the always tense quarter final between the South American superpowers Brazil and Argentina, the Brazilians had a slight advantage on the field. However, it was Argentina who scored through attacker Matias Romano. Brazil tried to do something back but hardly created any chances.

In the second half, Brazil equalized after Miranda Cardoso finished a beautiful attack. Soon after, it was even 2 - 1 through a beautiful header by Jefferson da Silva. Brazil did everything they could to maintain the lead. However, Argentina came close to equalizing. German Romussi hit the post with a hard shot and substitute Mariano Morana also had two good chances to equalize.
Final score: 2 - 1
With this result, Brazil qualifies for the semi-finals.
