IFCPF Club World Cup Day Five: Substitutes make the difference, SJK win 2-1
NewsGoals from substitutes Adel Eid and Heikki Rantala have helped SJK to a 2-1 win over FC Storebรฆlt, as both teams ended their 2024 IFCPF World Cup campaign.
Rantala scored the winner in the 59th minute, completing the turnaround after the Finnish side found themselves a goal down at half-time.
Brian Levi Clemmensen made three alterations from his starting seven that lost to FECPC, with Martin Jensen, Glenn Sambleben and Magnus Madsen replacing Anders Christiansen, Kristian Kaastrup and Mads Christian Fomsgaard.
His team started the better of the two, as Oliver Larsen cemented himself as FC Storebælt's talisman by opening the scoring. Firing home in the 11th minute to break the deadline, the team captain scoring his third of the tournament.
Looking to avoid leaving Barcelona winless, SJK pushed for an equaliser before the break, but could not find a way past Jakob Teute in the FC Storebælt goal.
With nine minutes to go though, SJK brought the game back level, as Adel Eid repeated his feat from the friendly by scoring against the Danish side again.
Rantala then won it two minutes after being introduced off the bench, consigning FC Storebælt to back-to-back tournament defeats.
