Maxime Legrand has received the highest individual honour in French Cerebral Palsy Football, winning the 2024 AFFPC Player of the Year.

The award caps off a stellar year for Legrand, having captained his country in the international friendlies against Finland in August, while also winning the league title with his club side Academie Club Asnières.

President of the Association Francaise de Football PC (AFFP) Jhon Viafara congratulated Legrand when announcing the award, commending his leadership and skill.

"It is with immense joy and deep respect that I stand before you today to celebrate an exceptional player, an outstanding competitor and a true inspiration to us all," Viafara started.

"This season was marked by remarkable performances, moments of pure magic and a display of talent that thrilled us. The player we honour embodies values โ€‹โ€‹that go far beyond the field: determination, team spirit and passion for the game.

"Throughout 2024, he knew how to push his limits, overcome challenges and raise his level of play to become a model for his teammates and a source of inspiration for future generations, but also of character, commitment and leadership."

France is currently ranked #30 in the IFCPF Men's World Rankings.
