International Federation of Cerebral Palsy Football (IFCPF) celebrates 10th anniversary of empowering players and growing the game

AMSTERDAM, NETHERLANDS (JAN. 30, 2025) – This January marks a significant milestone for the International Federation of Cerebral Palsy Football (IFCPF) as it celebrates its 10th anniversary. Founded in January 2015, the IFCPF has been at the forefront of providing athletes with cerebral palsy and other physical impairments with the chance to compete on the global stage in the sport of football.

Looking back on the past decade, the IFCPF is proud of its many accomplishments. The organization has provided 1,620 players with opportunities to play, hosted 39 tournaments (including both men’s and women’s competitions), and celebrated the addition of women’s football to the IFCPF family in 2022. To date, 674 games have been played, with 3,572 goals scored—highlighting the incredible talent and passion of the athletes.

Jan-Hein Evers, IFCPF President, shared his thoughts on this momentous occasion. "Ten years of IFCPF, a decade of growth, commitment, and collaboration. We have grown in membership, tournaments, and impact, with hundreds of volunteers making it all possible. What a journey! I am incredibly proud of what we have achieved together and look forward to the next ten years with enthusiasm. Congratulations to everyone who has contributed to this success – together, we will continue to build.”

Ash Hammond, CEO of the IFCPF, echoed these sentiments, expressing his pride in the organization's achievements. “This milestone is a true testament to the hard work and dedication of everyone involved with the IFCPF. In these first ten years, we have opened doors for athletes to showcase their abilities on the world’s biggest stages, and this is only the beginning. We’re thrilled about the exciting developments in store for 2025.”

The IFCPF is gearing up for a transformative year ahead, with three major events planned in 2025. Additionally, the organization is rolling out cutting-edge advancements in classifications, ensuring a more inclusive and fairer competitive environment for all athletes. “We are working diligently and intentionally for all involved in our sport, but especially for our youth and women,” Hammond added. “Providing opportunities for young athletes to grow and thrive, while further elevating women’s football, is a key focus for us in the coming years.”

The IFCPF is always open to discussing its mission, goals, and upcoming initiatives with potential supporters, donors, and sponsors. The organization invites all interested parties to join the movement and help empower athletes worldwide. “With the continued support of our partners, we can grow this sport and provide even more opportunities for athletes to shine,” Hammond said.

The IFCPF’s ongoing commitment to inclusivity and growth is unwavering, and as the sport continues to expand, the organization is excited for the next ten years. “Here’s to the last ten years… and to ten more,” Hammond concluded.

“Stay tuned for what’s to come in 2025,” Hammond added.
