International CP Football Tournament to take place in Lavamรผnd, Austria
NewsLavamünd, the small market town in the Lavant Valley, moves this year again at the center of European disability football scene. From 4th to 6th June will participate together with Team Austria at a sports club from Lavamünd, in cooperation with the Austrian Disabled Sports Association, organized 4-Nations Tournament CP football national teams from Germany, Italy and the Netherlands.
The young Austrian team around coach Wolfgang Hartweger looking forward to your support in exciting games on par with Europe's football superpowers! With this tournament we hope to raise awareness of our sport throughout the country, to recruit new players to continue develop CP-Football in Austria.
Day 1
The International CP football tournament started in Lavamünd. Germany, the Netherlands and Italy have followed the call of the Lavant Valley together with the Austrian team. After a good-humored opening ceremony with the children's choir of the local elementary school and the chapel Neuhaus were able to present their best, the Games chief Werner Gregoritsch, FK Austria Wien were under the eyes of U21 Team sports director Franz Wohlfahrt, who is also at the same time patron of the tournament is, and still about 400 spectators going.
Tomorrow are the duels Italy against Germany (17:00) and Austria against Holland (19:00).

4/06/2015 - Match 1: Austria vs. Italy (17:00)
Austria 5 - 3 Italy
The opening game of the 4 Nations Tournament in Lavamünd between the hosts and newcomers from Italy was marked by intense heat and more intense action on the pitch. It was the Italians that drew first blood with Claudio Girardi converting from the penalty spot (22 mins). Austria’s response followed still before half-time as Peter Dostal levelled the score on a counter attack just before the half time break (30 mins).
The Austrians came back strong from the break and Erick Krell scored 7 minutes in to the game (37 mins). Italy’s response followed immediately. Paco Herve levelled the score once again (38 mins) and 2 minutes later the newcomers went ahead with a goal from Danielle Beccegato (40 mins). Pushed by the home supporters Austria managed to draw even again with Krell (43 mins). With two minutes left in the game Austria’s Captain Ali Khalaji took the game in to his own hands and struck from outside the box giving the hosts the win (58 mins). Dostal’s second goal of the day a couple of minutes later made the crowd go crazy (60 mins).
4/06/2015 - Match 2: Germany vs. Netherlands U19 (19:00)
Germany 2 - 0 Netherlands U19
In the second game of the tournament Germany on strong first half to defeat the U19 Team of the Netherlands. Conny Fritsch (21 mins) and Daniel Sperl (30 mins) scored before the break and the young Dutch team did not manage cut the German advantage even after playing a strong second period. The well-disciplined German side played a solid and tactically well planned match and are favourites to snatch the championship.
Day 2
The second day of the International CP football tournament went under the same conditions on the stage as the day before, it was hot. Under the scorching sun of Lavamünd started the duel between the football tradition countries Italy and Germany. In FIFA 11-a-side soccer, the two nations share a total of 8 world titles justice among themselves, in CP football both teams are very young. Germany plays since 2013, Italy has in the first year begun.
Now Germany takes over the top spot and Holland takes over Austria in second place. Italy still without point is in fourth place. Germany may make against Austria (14:00) all clear in a draw tomorrow, while the Netherlands with a win against Italy (12:00) will be dependent on help from Austria to protect the Germans to make the title still in dispute. Italy reached after the first point in the tournament.
5/06/2015 - Match 3: Italy vs.Germany (17:00)
Italy 0 (0) - (4) 7 Germany
Newcomer team Italy stood no chance against a strong German side. With almost 15 minutes into the first half Germany’s captain Conny Fritsch opened the score with a great solo run (12 mins). Fritsch struck again 5 Minutes later (17 mins), followed by goals from Gordon Litinski (21 mins) and Daniel Sperl (29 mins). In the second period Litinski completed his hattrick by scoring twice (35 mins and 48 mins) and Sperl completed the scorer with his second of the day (37 mins) to make it 7 to 0 for Germany.
5/06/2015 - Match 4: Austria vs. Netherlands U19 (19:00)
Austria 0 (0) - (2) 3 Netherlands U19
In the second match of the day Austria gave the U19 squad of the Netherlands a game their moneys worth. It was only midway through the first period when Dutchman Job Draaijer managed to break Austria’s defence (17 mins). Draaijers struck again before the break (26 mins) but it was Austria that found the better chances to score with their dangerous counter attacks. Draaijers’ hattrick shortly after the beginning of the second half (34 mins) took the wind out of Austria’s team. Netherlands secured the score until the end and snatched a 3 to 0 victory.

Day 3
6/06/2015 - Match 5: Netherlands 3 (0) vs. (2) 2 Italy (12:00)
The final day of the tournament kicked off with Italy putting pressure on Netherlands U19 scoring twice before half time. Paco Hervé (11 mins) and Daniele Braglia (25 mins) brought the newcomers in front on the score board. In the second period the Netherlands were brought back into the game by their top-scorer Job Draaijers, who single handedly dismantled the Azzuris. By scoring his second hatrick of the tournament (37, 42 and 49 mins) he not only secured the Dutchmen’s overall 2nd place with this 3 to 2 victory, he also grabbed himself the tournament’s top-scorer crown with his 6 goals.
6/06/2015 - Match 6: Austria 2 (1) vs. (3) 8 Germany (14:00)
With the previous game’s result both Austria and Germany went into the game with an already set final standing. Nethertheless both teams did not hold back. Austria went ahead first with a goal resulting from a penalty kick of Austria’s top-scorer Erich Krell (9 mins). Germany did not take long and they levelled the game two minutes later with Jens Jeschke (11 mins), followed by two goals from their top-scorer Daniel Sperl (16 and 25 mins). Austria went into the break trailing by two and came back determined to get back on the scoreboard but the German side counter attacked the Austrian offensive efforts scoring at will again with Sperl (36 mins), Luca Podsendek (54 mins), another two by Gordon Litinski (37 and 57 mins). An own goal (60 mins) and a beautiful shot by Krell (49 mins) settled the score of 8 to 2.
Tournament results and awards
Germany secured its first ever CP Football tournament win. Netherlands U19 finished at second place, followed by the hosts Austria and newcomers Italy. Draaijers had to share his top-scorer trophy with German striker Daniel Sperl, while German Rene Heinen was awarded best keeper of the tournament, conceiding only 2 goals throughout the event. Most Valuable Player was elected by the coaches and was awarded to Austria’s Erich Krell.
A huge thank you to Josef Ruthardt and all members of Sportclub Lavamünd, led by chairman Reinhold Ertler, for the wonderful days in Lavanttal. The event was organised perfectly and all look forward to further invitations. The general consensus of the participants was: "see you next year!"
