Brazil - Colombia
Brazil made their debut in the competition soon afterwards, facing a well-organized Colombian team. Spurred on by the spectators, who filled the stands at the Paralympic Centre, the two teams played out a well-contested match, with impressive individual moves, physical battles in midfield and even a missed penalty. The man of the match was Brazilโs number 10, Joรฃo Victor, who scored the winning goal for the hosts.
โIt was a good test for the boys on their debut, it helped to settle their nerves. But we noticed some mistakes on the pitch and weโre going to do our best to fix them for our next matchโ, said Brazilโs coach Wagner Lopes.
