A win in this important match will see Ukraine secure the group win and reach the quarter finals. In an equal match in which Argentina had a slight advantage, not many chances were created. However, it was the reigning world champions Ukraine who managed to open the score in the 21st minute through their super-fast striker Oleh Len, who scored his fourth goal in the tournament. Argentina tried to do something back in the last minutes of the first half, but goalkeeper Bohdan Kulynych kept his goal clean.

Immediately after half-time, Ukraine took the lead to 2 – 0 through Romanchuk, but Argentina’s Matias Bassi quickly made it 2 – 1, which kept the match exciting until the last minute. Then Ukraine decided the match definitively with a goal again from Romanchuk.
