AUSTRALIA - THAILAND

Australia and Thailand, who both suffered a defeat in their first match at this World Cup, both went all out for their first victory. In the first half, both teams were evenly matched. Australia had a slight advantage and managed to open the score in the 13th minute through Augustine Murphy. Thailand came to 1-1 in injury time of the first half.

In the second half, Augustine Murphy made it 2-1 with a beautiful header and then immediately closed the match with a long-range shot. He scored again and Luc Launder scored the last goal.
Due to the big defeat of the USA against the Netherlands, Australia still has a chance of a place in the quarter finals.
